Scottish Heavy Athletics

Stone throwing, weight tossing, hammer throwing, caber turning, and sheaf tossing. Competitions, morning and afternoon. Amateur Classes A & B; kilted novices welcome.

Pipe Band Competition

Thrill to the bourdon and skirl of the pipes and the cadence of the drums as talented pipers and drummers compete.

Children's Activities

In addition to enjoying the other activities, children can try several pint-sized events that include the sheaf toss, caber turning, the haggis hurl and the welly toss.

   

Scottish Border Collies

Don’t miss seeing working Scottish Border Collies guided by Master Trainer Bill Coburn demonstrate their amazing sheep- and geese-herding skills, and instant obedience.

Musical Entertainment

Enjoy the sounds and beat of traditional Scottish music from one of several Celtic groups performing on stage, including Scottish balladeer Alex Beaton.

Scottish Marketplace

Stroll among vendors offering Scottish foods, imports, crafts, books, music, woolens, kilts and other Highland wear. Enjoy a traditional Scottish or American lunch.

   

Highland Dancing Championship

Marvel at the skill, stamina and grace of youthful dancers from across the Southeast as they compete in the Southern Regional Championship, one of six held in the U.S. each spring.

The Clans

The Scottish Clans (families) are the backbone of today’s Scottish Games.  Many, many Americans have Scottish ancestry – check among the clan tents to see if perhaps your great-great-great grandmother was Scottish after all!
