COLINGRANT ADANS.jpg

For forty years, Colin Grant-Adams has traveled the world as a Scottish folk singer-songwriter. He thrives on audience participation, joining on stage with other performers, on mandolin, or Irish bouzouki, sharing laughter and tears, and building community! Colin honed his craft in pubs and halls across Scotland, Ireland, and Europe, absorbing traditional Celtic ballads and folk stories passed down through generations. Now, as a traveling artist, he blends Scottish, Irish, and Americana influences in a repertoire that resonates on both sides of the Atlantic. Colin incorporated key Americana genres—bluegrass, country, and roots music—that fueled his wanderlust. Colin values the human connection in every performance. Whether strumming intricate guitar patterns or leading a sing-along, he strives to make every listener feel part of the story.

Drawing from a vast depth of internal talent, Swamptooth plants one foot firmly in the traditions of bluegrass, keeping a uniquely Southern string sound close to their hearts while bravely progressing the genre beyond its boundaries.

Bluegrass pioneer Bill Monroe was from Kentucky, “the Bluegrass State.” With a strong emphasis on storytelling and instruments like the fiddle and banjo, bluegrass music is rooted in the Scots-Irish history of the Appalachian Mountains. It’s the folk music of Scotland and Ireland, with lyrics that spoke of lament and loss of their homeland.

Infectious melodies, technical prowess and powerful songwriting merge from the hands of master musicians with decades of songwriting behind them and a modern sound guiding their future. Coupling a high-energy, relentless bluegrass sound with the steadfastness of professional, experienced troubadours, Swamptooth embodies an indelible appeal that can ignite the passion of nearly any audience who happens across their path.
