Bethesda Academy is located approximately12 miles east of downtown Savannah, Bethesda Academy was founded in 1740 and features gorgeous marshland on the Moon River as well as majestic live oaks draped in Spanish moss.

Thanks to Bethesda Academy and Bethesda-Union Society of Savannah who are our gracious hosts!

Historic Bethesda is on over 500 acres of land that was Granted to the Reverend George Whitefield in 1739 by the Georgia Trustees for use as an orphanage which was established in 1740. Bethesda is now a thriving school for young men whose football team was the 2023 State Champions of the South Carolina Independent School Association.

Bynuh's Field has their own entry gates located half a mile north of the Bethesda Academy school grounds on Ferguson Avenue. We do not use the main address gate with the Bethesda Academy arches.

On-line Tickets

Can the QR code be shared to others by email until the number paid for but unredeemed has been extinguished?

Yes, according to the site, the person who purchased multiple tickets and received the QR code should share that email with others if they are not arriving together so those individuals can use it to gain entry. Once the ticket limit is reached, it can no longer be used.

If someone buys multiple tickets in a single order, the QR code on the confirmation works for the whole order, and you can check in everyone from that same QR code. The QR code is not intended to be printed and probably has specifically been set up not to print because it won’t work on the scanners at the gate from a printout. You can email the document that includes the code to your guests and it will scan at the gate from their phone until there are no longer any tickets left in your order.

I purchased tickets but can’t find them on my phone?

When you purchased the purchasing system from either TicketSpice or Regfox (for clan registration) creates an automatic email confirmation. It is this automatic email confirmation that contains the QR code.

Please check your junk folder or an ‘all mail’ folder where various unidentified emails go.

Saturday Gate check-in - What can I bring?

No pets are allowed at the Games. Of course, certified service dogs in active assistance are certainly welcome!

Accessibility Scooters and wheelchairs are allowed. Larger wheeled equipment may work best as there are no paved areas.

Lawn chairs, blankets, water bottles and rain umbrellas are welcomed.

We encourage you to bring a lawn chair. We have limited seating in the bleachers so please bring your own seat!

This is also advisable if you plan to watch the Heavy Athlete competitions and Welcome Ceremonies. There are plenty of chairs under the tent in the food area and spread throughout the grounds but not set up specifically for Main Field, Hurling or Tug-of-war viewing.

Water bottles are allowed.

No pets allowed.

No outside coolers or shade umbrellas. Rain umbrellas allowed.

Saturday Gate Re-entry Stamps

If you need to leave the Festival, please stop at the Gate and get stamped to make re-entry easy!

Once Inside on Saturday (Site Plan includes location details):

We are always working to improve —

Main Field Viewing areas

Look for a significantly improved field viewing area - the Main Field layout has changed to allow clans to gather ‘in a village’ and there is more open spots to view the main field for visitor lawn chairs.

Shade Tents

When you’ve got the whole clan with you, both young and young at heart, it can be overwhelming on families. We have made it easier for you to enjoy your stay with shade tents scattered strategically on the Games’ grounds.

Family Baby Care Tent

Centerally located near information or the closest tree, we have provided a tent with four sides for privacy while nursing or changing your baby. There are tables and chairs inside to help make it easier.

ATM

The ATM is located right inside the mail gate for your convenience.

Children's Passport and Kilted Run

* Children's Passports are available from the Front Gate and as the family visits with the various clans and tents collect passport stamps! A prize awaits - redeem Passport Stamps at the Information Tent!

* Children interested in joining the kilted run should sign up in the children's area and assemble immediately after the welcoming ceremonies at about 12:15 p.m. on the main field.  Parents, don't worry, plenty of plaid material will be available to create a 'kilt’ for this event.

Golf cart assistance

We unfortunately do not have golf cart assistance for visitors. Any golf carts travelling around the Festival grounds are being used to distribute necessary supplies.

First Aid

On-site first aid is located near the Information Tent

The Information Tent provides the following services including:

  • Children’s Passport prize redemption (included)

  • Games Program Available (included)

  • Souvenir Games pins, Games logo etched pint glass and water are available to purchase
